The International Federation of Aromatherapists (IFA) is the longest established organisation for professional aromatherapists in the world.

Originally formed in 1985 to act as an independent representative body for the profession of aromatherapy it is a registered charity supported by its members and friends.

The Federation is a registered charity in the UK (No. 327290) whose aim is to increase public awareness of the benefits of aromatherapy in the UK and abroad.

Since its formation, the Federation has been at the forefront of developments within the aromatherapy profession and pioneered the use of aromatherapy in hospitals, hospices, special care units and general practice and many IFA practitioners are also practising medical staff.

The IFA offers comprehensive information on aromatherapy treatments, to the public and other healthcare professionals. It also ensures that all IFA aromatherapists have received expert professional training, maintain a high standard of practice, and follow the IFA code of conduct and ethics.

We all work hard to set and maintain the highest standards in Aromatherapy around the world.
